MERCATO DELLA PESCHERIA SWIMS INTO THE GRAND CANAL SHOPPES

Shhhh. Miami import Mercato della Pescheria quietly opened on St. Marks Square inside the former Postrio space at the Grand Canal Shoppes.

Miami-based V&E Restaurant Group, which also operates the 24-hour Café Americano at Caesars Palace, operates the restaurant run by Alberto Cabrera, who moved up to Las Vegas to helm the kitchen.

The seafood and pasta house, formerly dubbed Cafe Nuvo in Miami, has been around since 1997. Look for appetizers, seafood and pasta dishes, as well as a boutique wine list, cocktails and craft beers all in a rustic setting reminiscent of an old European restaurant and market. In Miami, chef specialties include Alaskan King crab legs by the pound, Chilean sea bass, a Florida lobster tail risotto and more. So far, a Las Vegas-specific Website and menu have not appeared.

In Miami, the restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.
